On Demand: "Does spirituality exist?"

Second question put by Serban and one which will make for a smaller post than the others. For those of you that don't know that spirituality is something different from religion, go and buy yourself some studying material, you have a lot of catching up to do! For the others, it's time to put the subject into context: "What is spirituality?". First of all, I feel I should get myself into a mental hospital by asking and answering my questions... *whistles*.
But seriously, spirituality from my point of view deals with things that can't be answered yet, it deals with wisdom and feelings and is the basis of that fucked up concept of religion. Spirituality can help science and mankind to better themselves to reach some higher goal in our existence. Being spiritual means you can understand different opinions, you can place better correlation between the Earth's phenomena, you can look at everything as a whole and act on this. These sentences answered the question in the title so I'm thinking of answering the third one posed by Serban as well, "how much can people control their lives?", and then putting forth some opinions.
People nowadays have full control of their lives, but are almost totally conditioned by the society in which they're born into and in which they live in. Is there a need to elaborate on this or you all know what I'm talking about...Africa, city suburbs, favellas, etc. Controlling your life equals to what you can do in each situation of that life, meaning that if a truck comes at you, you can move or you can choose to die the fuck there on the spot. You can control what you do when your boss comes and tells you you're fired or when a disfigured child's standing in front of you asking for money. You can control what you do but you're conditioned by society and by basic human instincts, you can't smash your boss' head because you need to keep out of jail and work again to keep on living or you feel compassionate towards the child and give her all you severance pay from getting fired, fuck.
In the end, ranting on and on about this doesn't change the answers, spirituality does exist and is helpful in our understanding of the universe surrounding us and improving on that universe, while you have control of your life but are conditioned by different factors to make certain decisions. The final part of the phrase doesn't mean you lack control if you have conditions attached to that control, you can always choose to fuck up your life or even kill yourself ... *again the whistles*
